The three days spring Sectorial Conference just held at the Ananda Suruci Master Unit in the south of Taiwan has been as usual a success in terms of attendance and inspiration for all involved.

The beautiful surroundings were the ideal setting for this spiritual event, and every year it becomes better with improved facilities and landscaping.
Margiis and Acaryas enjoyed an unusually cool weather for this season, indeed a welcome help in meditation. Such sudden change of weather used to happen at Ananda Nagar just for the duration of DMCs, and so the repetition of such event during the Sectorial Conference was for many a special sign of His kind presence.

The Taichung Margiis chose the theme of ‘Samgacchadhvam’, the ancient mantra that for thousands of years has been inspiring collective movement in the hearts and minds of yogis.
Another welcomed presence was that of Dada Nigamanandaji, our Central representative who addressed several times the Margiis to share many anecdotes of his personal experience with Baba and insights about Ananda Marga organization and Mission.

After every Dharma Cakra Acaryas shared their experience and commented on the theme of the conference, which in fact is an invitation to see humanity as a spiritual family and the whole universe as the collective home of every created entity.

Every aspect of the program went smoothly; from accommodation to the spiritual practices routine, from educational activities to tasty and well prepared meals.

In the spirit of Samgacchadhvam, Margiis spent time knowing each other better and exchange inspiration by sharing their positive aspirations for themselves and our spiritual community, which is constantly growing in size and inspiration in Taiwan and around the Far East.

The devotional night program was spiritually charged by many Baba’s stories shared by several Acaryas and Margiis and the overnight Akhanda Kiirtan created a strong spiritual vibration that in terms of intensity is second to nowhere else around the world.

Margiis keenly participated to the five simultaneous workshops organized to increase everyone’s awareness on Ananda Marga’s views and solutions to the socio-spiritual issues that are challenging humanity. With the shift towards spirituality that has already started such awareness is becoming increasingly relevant in today’s society.

Surely someone must have wished to possess the power of omnipresence to be able to attend them all.

The general ACB (Advisory Committee Board) to the SS met during the conference and there was also a meeting of Bukti Pradhana during which many important issues and plans were discussed. As a result of the discussions there will be an increase in Ananda Marga activities in Taiwan starting from July with, for example, a three days Akhanda Kiirtan followed by a four days ideological training for Margiis, a one week long meditation camp and finally a two weeks LFT training session.

A touching baby naming ceremony was also conducted by our Sectorial Secretary and all Margiis present gladly accepted the responsibility for the all round development of these new members of our Ananda Marga community; indeed an event very much in the spirit of the conference theme and the feeling of belonging to a spiritual family.

Taiwanese Margiis love fine arts and therefore the RAWA cultural night is always one of the awaited highlights of the conference. Many quality performances such as dramas, dances, spiritual songs and instrumental music kept everyone amused, interested and inspired till late evening.
During the closing ceremony many prizes were awarded to those Margiis and Units around the Sector who have excelled in service work or any other aspect of Ananda Marga activities.
Finally it was the customary group photo taking that concluded the conference, as everyone waits for the chance to attend the next, scheduled in October.

Seminar in Altai, Siberia in August 21-28, 2009 

Again we had a very successful seminar in the Altai Mountains of Siberia. This year 177 people attended from all over the northwestern countries of Hong Kong sector such as Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and many cities of Russia which include Moscow, Saratov, Magnitogorsk, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Biysk, Rubtsovsk, Irkutsk, Makaryevka, Gorno-Altaysk, Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, and Barnaul.

15 Classes were given by the attending Acaryas. 8 Brothers were initiated and 36 Sisters. Two 3 hour and one 6 hour Akhanda kiirtan were conducted. Two marriage ceremonies were conducted for Sister Tripti with Brother Aditya from Barnaul, and Sister Amiya with Brother Satya Prakasha from Rubtsovsk.

Personally I felt overall the seminar was very successful with a special emphasis on the quality of kiirtan. Many people commented that what they felt in the kiirtan was unlike anything they had experienced before.
