Rawa Concert in Taipei |

The Golden Jubilee of RAWA was celebrated in Taipei on 18th October, 2008. More than 160 people and 10 Acaryas filled the concert hall.
SS Dada welcomed the audience and gave an introductory talk on RAWA, its history and ideals. |

The concert began with a stunning performance by Jaduna. He combined elements of western popular music with spiritual kiirtan music. Sister Soma and her two companions performed traditional Indian dance sporting ankle bells and accompanied by the Prahbat Samgiita ‘Nirguna Ambare’. The hand movements and rhythmic effects combined harmoniously and left a subtle impression on the minds of the spectators.

Towards the end of the performance sister Soma introduced some basic Indian Classical dance movements, and invited the audience to participate in it. Finally she demonstrated a combination of arm and head movements that were accompanied by a rhythmic step that started slow and became very fast. The entire audience followed through enthusiastically. |
|
Afterwards, four sisters performed songs of the Taiwanese aboriginal culture in acapella style. The soulful voice of the lead singer Carushiila infused the hall with a subtle vibration connecting the audience with the ancient Taiwanese tradition. |

In the next performance Dada Shubhadhyananda on harmonium, Didi Ananda Gunamrita, vocals and Dada Subhaniiryasananda on drums presented the Prabhat Samgiita “Bhajare Ishta Nam”. Bright smiles from the audience and beaming eyes made it clear that they inspired the audience with feelings of deep devotion. |
|
The highlights of the concert were a sitar and keyboard performance by the group CUSIYU and a beautifully choreographed Kaoshiiki yoga dance by six sisters from Taipei. The rhythmic Celtic folk music that accompanied the Kaoshiiki performance was picked in a fast aesthetic rhythm that perfectly matched the music. |

What followed were the very subtle, slow movements and smooth, soft voice of Chinfei performing traditional Chinese NanGuan dance and song.
|
Then Didi Ananda Arpana sang a beautiful English Bhajan that left the audience thrilled.

|
The concert ended with another splendid English Bhajan, this time sung by Didi Ananda Gunamrta accompanied by SS Dada on drums, which culminated with a lively Kiirtan. The entire audience felt the divine vibrations and participated joyfully. Many people stood up and waved their arms, others tuned into the rhythm by nodding their heads and tapping their limbs. |

|
At the end the entire atmosphere was mesmerizing. A lot of people expressed their gratitude and appreciation, requesting that these events occur more frequently in the future, for the benefit of all. This was a delightful fusion of artistic performance and spiritual upliftment that was a joy to behold and the performance truly lived up to the ideals of RAWA. |
